Teen crash victim in serious condition PORTLAND -- A Grants Pass teenager remained in serious condition Monday at a Portland hospital where he is being treated for a chest wound suffered in a Saturday car accident on Lower River Road near Grants Pass. Warren King, 18, was one of two passengers in a speeding car that rounded a right curve too quickly, traveled through about 30 feet of picket fence, flipped and returned to the pavement, skidding about 150 feet before stopping. King suffered a chest injury in the 4:05 p.m. wreck, which occurred on the 4000 block of Lower River Road, according to the Oregon State Police. The car, a blue 1990 Toyota Tercel, was driven by Elijah Young, 18, of Grants Pass, the OSP said. Police identified the other passenger as Joseph McCloud, also 18 and of Grants Pass. Other details of the accident were not available Monday. McCloud and Young were taken to Three Rivers Washington Hospital in Grants Pass, where they were treated and released. King was taken to Three Rivers Dimmick Hospital, where he was initially in critical condition. King was transferred Sunday to Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, where he was listed Monday in serious condition, hospital spokesman Jim Newman said.
