This decision by the country’s largest Presbyterian organization will take effect on June 21. With almost 1.8 million members, the group is now the biggest Protestant group in the US to endorse gay marriage. In 2011, the Presbyterian Church (USA) made the decision to allow for the ordination of gay pastors, elders and deacons, causing some of the group’s more conservative congregations to disassociate themselves from the denomination. SURVEY SAYS According to a recent poll conducted by the Equality & Human Rights Commission, UK Christians believe their religion is “losing its place” at the office. About 2,500 people weighed in on the survey, which found that people felt pressured to keep their religion hidden at work, and that some felt discriminated against when wearing religious symbols at work.
