George Arthur Bringmann MailTribune.com Writer Posted Nov. 6, 2014 @ 2:00 am Posted Nov. 6, 2014 @ 2:00 am » Social News George Arthur Bringmann, age 73, passed away in Rogue River, Ore., Oct. 9, 2014, from natural causes while on his daily walk. Born April 19, 1941, George grew up in Oregon and ventured to Alaska in 1968 as a young electrician and worked on the Aleutian Islands. In 1972, he formed and became President of Alcan Electrical and Engineering, Inc. George served as President and Governor of the Alaska Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), as well as (NECA) National Vice President for the Western District. George was inducted as a Fellow in the Academy of Electrical Contractors in 1989. After over 30 years of building a successful company, shaping the electrical industry and developing great people, George retired as the largest electrical contractor in Alaska. George returned to southern Oregon with his wife of 53 years, Madlyn, whom he met in elementary school, to enjoy their retirement. You always knew where you stood with George and he was never one to stand still, as one of his favorite sayings was "Let's make a move!" His philosophy on life was simply, It is easy," he said, "just do the right thing." George is survived by his wife, Madlyn; son, Scott Bringmann; son and daughter-in-law, Skipp and Jill Bringmann; grandchildren, Nikolas, Sage and Caley; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Beckett; sister, Irene Simms; and brother, Jerry. Per his wishes, there will be no service and his ashes will be spread over Big Lake and Anchorage, Alaska. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. this Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Double R Pub in Rogue River. Any correspondence to the family can be sent to Alcan Electric, 9970 Arctic Spur Road, Anchorage, Alaska 99518.
