Phoenix continues to dominate PHOENIX � Continuing its early season dominance, the Phoenix wrestling team produced seven champions and three runners-up at the six-team Phoenix Tournament Wednesday and Thursday. En route to the team title, the Pirates received championship efforts from Kevin Cowley (103), Ben Workman (125), Tyler McCarty (135), Brandon Sousa (145), Kyle Kaufman (152), Forest Jacobs (160) and Shawn Farrell (171). Phoenix finished 20 points ahead of Eureka (Calif.) to claim the team title, followed by Klamath Union, Hidden Valley, South Umpqua and Lowell. "The kids are starting to come into their own and are starting to do the things that we want them to do," Phoenix coach Harry Mondale. "To me that�s more important than winning." Finishing second for the Pirates were George Pearce (140), Greg Brown (189) and Keanon Ferguson (215).
