RECREATION Campfires now allowed at most state parks in Oregon Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Sep. 18, 2015 at 2:58 PM Posted Sep. 18, 2015 at 2:58 PM » Social News Outdoor enthusiasts can have campfires in designated fire rings at all but five Oregon state parks, almost a month after an across-the-board ban was instituted. The ban remains in place at the Cove Palisades, Cottonwood Canyon State Park, Deschutes River State Recreation Area, Succor Creek State Natural Area and the Government Island State Recreation Area. Fires are also banned on beaches from Coos Bay south to the California border. Park officials said those bans would be lifted when conditions improve. Cooler weather this week and some rain have tempered wildfire danger, officials said.
