The Raiders (30-15, 13-4 Cascade) maintained its first-place grasp in the league standings and dropped the Mountaineers (24-11, 12-6 Cascade) into third place with wins of 3-2 and 6-5 scores. Senior pitcher Miranda Gillaspie upped her conference-leading season record to 17-5, improved to 19-1 at home during her two-year Raider career and won her 11th and 12th straight decisions. In Game 1, EOU took a 2-0 advantage by scoring unearned runs in the first and second frames as a result of SOU throwing errors, but the Raiders cut the margin in half in the third on an Amy Williams RBI single to center that plated Kara Ray. After a one-out triple by Megan Rock and an infield single by Ray, Southern Oregon center fielder Leann Foster delivered the go-ahead hit in the fifth inning — a double down the left-field line off Mountaineer ace Shannon Rasmussen (13-6).
