Guerrero won the sixth, seventh and eighth races. Jockeys Ruben Camacho and Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa each claimed a pair of victories. Trainers Hector Magallanes and Rolland Fergason both secured two wins. In the Stakes, Guerrero and Fergason teamed up for the triumph. The winning horse, 8-year-old Brite Eyed N Lucky, won by a head. It had not raced since Jan. 16, 2013. It was a packed house and a successful betting day at the track, with a 2,875 attendance and $40,894 handle. Action continues today with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. and post time at 1 p.m. Fathers get in free to the races, which include the 26-horse Firecracker Futurity Trials. Auto Racing SOUTHERN OREGON SPEEDWAY: At White City, Southern Oregon Speedway points leader Jorddon Braaten took the lead from Mike Medel with seven laps to go and held him off to win the 20-lap IMCA Sport Modified main event Saturday night. Brock Peters earned an impressive victory in the 20-lap dwarf car main event, while Ryan Smith out-dueled Josh King for second. Reigning Yreka champion David Steele won a race-long battle with points leader Bob Burkett in the 20-lap mini stock main. Mike Linder was fastest in the 120-lap open stock feature. Braaten had a spectacular drive from last to first in his race. Trophy Dash winner Mike Medel took the lead from Willie McFall on lap six and held the spot until Braaten made his winning move with an inside pass in Turn 4 of the 13th lap.
