During the execution of a search warrant on an apartment in the 2000 block of Brookhurst Street, the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team and Medford police located 1 ounce of heroin, three rifles and trace amounts of methamphetamine, according to a release issued by MADGE. Inside the apartment, MADGE arrested Jonathan Michael Rodriguez and Izabella Julia St. Claire. Rodriguez, 23, of the 1800 block of East Barnett Road, was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of delivering heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, manufacturing heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, possessing heroin, delivering heroin and possessing methamphetamine. Rodriguez remained in Jackson County Jail Thursday on $500,000 bail. St. Claire, 20, of the 2000 block of Brookhurst Street, faces a felony charge of heroin possession. She has since been released. While searching the residence, investigators observed a white Cadillac pull into the apartment complex believed to be tied to the drug activity. Officers observed Edgardo Medina Amaya of Everett, Wash., engage in a drug transaction, according to an affidavit filed in the case. The vehicle was later stopped after violating traffic violations. According to the affidavit, when officers attempted to remove Amaya from the Cadillac, he refused to get off a phone conversation and refused to leave the vehicle. Officers ultimately used a Taser to remove Amaya. Amaya was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, warrants for failure to appear on methamphetamine possession and altered weapon identification charges, and for violating parole on charges of fourth-degree assault and recklessly endangering. He remains in jail Thursday on $60,000 bail. In the passenger seat was Oliver Israel Rosales, 24. He was charged with felony counts of possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, and on a Washington warrant. He remained in jail Thursday on $275,000 bail.
