He lost his battle with cancer November 4, 2015. He lived most of his life in Eagle Point, Ore. He married Linda Waddell April 10, 1971. They have 2 sons, Steven and John. They also have five grandchildren, Joshua, Jackson, Tristan, Alyx, and Taylor. His family and friends were the most important things in his life. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Richard loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He bragged about working in the woods since he was 12 years old. He was a timber faller until he had to quit for physical reasons in January 2015. Being a member of the Yurok Indian tribe was very important to him. He loved fishing for salmon on the reservation. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; children and grandchildren; his brother, Ronald Holzhauser; his sisters, Melva Holzhauser and Florence Echols; and his Aunt Star Clary. He was loved by his many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday November 14, 2015 at the River House in Shady Cove, Ore.
