Eagle Point transient accused of raping teen Dakota Todd Cardoso Friday Apr 28, 2017 at 5:27 PM Apr 28, 2017 at 5:31 PM Nick Morgan Mail Tribune @mtcrimebeat A man who was living in a tent near Eagle Point faces a felony charge alleging he picked up a teen girl in California and raped her here. Dakota Todd Cardoso, 25, was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of third-degree rape. Police believe he traveled to Redding to pick up a 15-year-old victim and brought her to Oregon, according to a release by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Additional charges are pending, according to the release. A search warrant was served Thursday on the tent where he was staying, on residential property in the 300 block of Bigham Brown Road in rural Eagle Point. The victim is safe, and was reunited with her guardian, the release states. Cordoso remains lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $25,000 bail, jail records show. Should he post the required 10 percent of his bail amount, he'll be ordered to undergo intensive release conditions, which include wearing a local control unit, weekly check-ins, no contact with minors and polygraph testing, according to Jackson County Circuit Court records filed Thursday.
