Spann's hat trick leads HV past IV MURPHY - Irie Spann scored his first-career hat trick as Hidden Valley moved to 12-1 on the season with a 9-0 pounding of Illinois Valley on Wednesday. The Mustangs wrap up regular season play today at 6 p.m. with a road contest at North Valley. Spann scored the first of his three goals in the first half, then added the final two after the intermission. Mo Artega notched the first goal of the game just 30 seconds in. Teammates, Ben Lumsden, Warren Hostkoetter, Broch Inghram and Rem Evert also added first-half goals. Ben Downing closed out the scoring with a goal late in the game. Hidden Valley won the shots on goal battle with a lopsided mark of 36-0.
