Top-player honor goes to Baker of Challengers Cascade Christian senior Andy Baker headlined the Southern Cascade League boys' all-conference voting by being named player of the year. Baker led the Challengers to an 18-8 record and an SCL conference playoff game. St. Mary's Tim Pflug was named coach of the year. He guided St. Mary's to a 19-8 record and its first state playoff appearance since the 1993 season. St. Mary's freshman Mike Fiddler was named to the first team, while league-champion Gilchrist filled up two spots with juniors Brad Haynes and Andrew Knotts. Also on the first team were seniors Ryan Case of Bonanza and Bob Holster of Chiloquin. St. Mary's was represented on the second team by juniors Jason Caplen and Chris Murphy. Senior Don Jenkins was chosen for Cascade Christian. Other second-teamers were Adam Ernest (Gilchrist), Derald Watkins (Bonanza) and Bogdan Vasii (Lost River). Andy Kimmelshue received honorable mention for Cascade Christian.
