The Raiders (20-5, 15-2 Cascade) hit the 20-win mark for the eighth consecutive with their 30-25, 30-21, 30-27 triumph over the eighth-place Mountaineers (4-19, 4-13 Cascade). Senior outside hitter Kristin Ferris and sophomore opposite Rachael Baran keyed the SOU attack. Ferris posted 18 kills in 42 swings along with 15 digs, while Baran had a 10-kill performance with only one attack miscue in 18 attempts (.500), including the match-clincher that headed off a 5-0 EOU rally. Raider junior middle blocker Nicholette Le Bel had six kills and four blocks, while junior all-star setter Jamie McCreary amassed 35 assists and 10 digs. Eastern, which fell to 1-29 against Southern Oregon since 1990, was paced by a 12-kill, 18-dig performance by senior all-star Kaki McLean. Southern Oregon would earn its second straight conference outright crown with a win in the regular-season finale tonight at Albertson College or with a Northwest University loss. Regardless, the Raiders will host the six-team league tournament next Friday and Saturday at McNeal Pavilion and the six-team NAIA Region I championships on Nov. 18-19.
