Burning is not allowed in non-certified woodstoves on red and yellow days when air quality worsens but is allowed on green days if the visibility of an object seen through the smoke is reduced by half or less. People can use their certified woodstoves on red and yellow days if there is no visible smoke, and on green days if the visibility of an object seen through the smoke is reduced by half or less. The answer to how to report violators depends on where you live, according to Jackson County Environmental Health Program Manager Chad Peterson. People who lives outside Medford's city limits can call a county complaint line at 541-774-8207. Medford Police Lt. Mike Budreau said people living inside city limits can contact city of Medford Code Enforcement.
