Meeker Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Oct. 8, 2014 at 2:00 AM Posted Oct. 8, 2014 at 2:00 AM »  Social News On October 5, 2014 our father, Bill Meeker, went home to be with the gracious Savior to whom he recently gave his life. Bill was born May 23, 1926 in Hoquium, Wash. and grew up in Klamath Falls, Ore. on the family ranch. Bill served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He worked as a milkman for Klamath Falls Creamery and Jorgensen's Dairy, and after retirement owned Meeker Christmas Tree Farm. In 1950 he married the love of his life, Joanne (Harrison) who preceded him in death. They were married for 60 years. Bill leaves behind four adult children, BobbiJo Smith, Dan Meeker, Wendy Hawkins, and Julie Harrison, as well as five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Meeker and sister, Nora Henry. Chess and hunting were Bill's passions. He had many kind friends with whom he shared both hobbies. Dad knew how blessed he was to have such special friends. Recently he asked family to write this: "To All My Friends, I appreciate all my friends who have helped me out. You know who you are and God knows who you are. Love, Bill Meeker." We wish to express our thanks to his many wonderful friends and caregivers. Thank you for making his life rich. According to Bill's wishes no service will be held. In liue of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in his name.
