Nicholas Jeffrey Hart Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Apr. 5, 2015 at 2:00 AM Updated Apr 6, 2015 at 8:16 AM Posted Apr. 5, 2015 at 2:00 AM Updated Apr 6, 2015 at 8:16 AM » Social News Nicholas Jeffrey Hart Nicholas Jeffrey Hart, 21, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 in Fallbrook, Calif. Nick was born June 18, 1993 to Jeffrey and Lisa Hart of Medford, Ore. Nick grew up attending Applegate Christian Fellowship and spent a summer lifeguarding at Camp Bradley. He graduated South Medford High School with the class of 2011, and immediately joined the Marine Corps on June 26, 2011. On September 8, 2012, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Elizabeth English, in Ashland, Ore. Cpl. Nick Hart served as a Radio Operator in Banshee 3, 3rd Battalion 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was affectionately known as "Santa" by his fellow Marines for his giving spirit. Among many hobbies, his favorite included ultimate Frisbee, motorcycle riding, and golf. But Nick wasn't afraid to try new things. Rock climbing, spear fishing, surfing, lock picking (for emergencies and entertainment only, of course), playing guitar and violin, working on cars, and toilet papering people's houses were also activities he enjoyed. He was also particularly talented at Pictionary as a team with his wife, which they called the "Drawnamic Duo." Nick always had an appreciation for humor and sarcasm, and could make a joke out of almost anything, even if you swore it was socially unacceptable to do so. Most of all, though, Nick will be remembered for his selflessness. He always put others' needs before his own and was committed to helping anyone he could. His kindness and love will live on infinitely with the people he touched. Nick is survived by his wife, Mary Hart, of Central Point, Ore.; parents, Jeff and Lisa Hart, of Medford; sisters, Crystal and Tiffany Hart, of Medford; grandparents, Marvin and Norma Hart, of Medford, and Sandra Harms, of Boise, Idaho; great-grandmother, Gladys Babcock, of Boise; and his beloved puppy, Cali. Though he has left this earth, we celebrate that we will get to see him again in Heaven. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Applegate Christian Fellowship. A reception will follow.
