She was born in Chico, Calif. October 21, 1950 to Romain and Wanda Peets. She moved to Medford in 1966 with her parents and graduated from Medford High School in 1968. While in school she sang in the choir and had a lead role in Carnival. She had a very successful career as a hairdresser until she suffered from a stroke eight years ago. She married Robert Hummel November 17, 1991 and is survived by him. She is also survived by her mother, Wanda Peets-Ekman; step-father, Lincoln; her children, Rachel (Gregor) Smyth and Nathan Stewart; granddaughters, Olivia and Lainey Smyth, and Jaida Stewart; sister, Melody Kolb; brother, Scott (CJ); and her two step-children, Bailey Hummel and Bodie Hummel. She was preceded in death by her father, Romain Peets; and her brother, Artie Peets. There will be an informal celebration of her life at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 22, 2014 at her parent's house, 1027 Tamara Circle, Medford, Ore.
