The second Raider sweep of the Crusaders over an eight-day period allowed Southern (31-9) to post the school’s first 30-win season. Juniors Miranda Gillaspie (a three-run shot in Game 2) and Carla Lillis (solo in Game 1) cracked their first home runs of the season to pace a 25-hit Raider barrage. Junior Kara Ray, an all-star candidate who normally plays shortstop, pitched an inning of scoreless relief in both contests. Sophomore Amanda Cregan (9-4) and freshman Megan Beugli (5-1) earned the wins in starting pitching roles. Southern returns to action Wednesday in Ashland with a 2 p.m. exhibition game against Shasta College.
