In a Wednesday post, Go Kart Hero, just west of the Medford airport, wrote that the company has " ceased operations and closed permanently." "Nothing to do with our great customers, unfortunately it's just a business decision," company management wrote. The company opened in 2013 at a 30,000 square foot facility on 550 Airport Road, a former warehouse site. The Oregon Business Registry lists Go Kart Hero LLC filing articles of incorporation through a Portland law firm in December 2012. The business offered a range of go karts — 5.5 to 9 horsepower vehicles — for entry level riders to veterans. According to the company's website, www.gokarthero.com , the 0.14-mile track has nine turns, though company officials said they changed the track's configuration once or twice annually. Anyone who has made a deposit for an upcoming birthday party or has a gift card with an outstanding balance should contact the company for a refund, either at 541-494-5278, or by email at [email protected] . Refund checks will be issued at the end of the month, company officials wrote. "It's been a great three years in business and we thank the Rogue Valley and our customers for your support," the Facebook post reads. This story will be updated when we have more information.
