Central Point seniors have ombudsmen William McIlvanie and Bud Fowler of Medford are newly appointed certified ombudsmen who will serve as advocates for the residents of Alderwood Assisted Living in Central Point. Meredith Cote, the long-term care ombudsman for the state, made the appointments. McIlvanie is a retired chiropractic physician. Fowler was previously employed by Red Arrow Freight Lines and is a volunteer with Westminster Presbyterian Church. The Office of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman is monitors the rights, safety and dignity of the residents of nursing homes, residential care facilities, assisted living facilities and adult foster care home.
