The pagan gods have gained popularity in recent years, though supporters say it is less about believing in one-eyed men riding around on eight-footed horses than about seeing ancient stories as metaphors for human psychology. At present, Asatruarfelagid — the organization that promotes faith in the Norse gods — has 2,400 members. The temple will be built on a hill overlooking the Icelandic capital city, Reykjavik. SURVEY SAYS In the wake of the terrorist attack on French satire publication Charlie Hebdo, the Pew Research Center conducted a poll on whether or not it was OK for the magazine to publish cartoons that picture the Prophet Muhammad. About 60 percent of respondents said it was OK to publish the cartoons, while another 28 percent said it was not OK. (Another 12 percent said they weren’t sure.)
