Wow! What an experience! I drove down Delta Waters Road today and did not hit one metal plate or have one delay by a flag person. Please tell me we are finally free of the constant ongoing utility upgrade. Please say they aren't going to come back and dig it up again as they have been doing for the last many months. I sure hope we are finally free ! Paula Waldrop Medford Don't be fooled Donald Trump is the only candidate running for president who is determined enough to put an end to federal government policies that don't benefit the people of our country. The president and those who have been elected to represent us in Washington, D.C., have supported these policies in the past, and will continue to do so. Trump knows it, that's why he is risking his life for us by running for president of the United States. Don't be fooled again. Vote for someone who really wants to change things. Donald Trump is the only candidate who will really debate Hillary Clinton and win. Claire Heil Grants Pass Vote for Bob Strosser A vote for Bob Strosser would be the best thing a Jackson County citizen can do. Bob has a strong, proven record of what a person in this position needs. He is authentic and genuinely cares about Jackson County. In his 16 years on the Medford City Council, his total travel expenditures were $2,600 — for 16 years . Bob believes that you can make a significant difference and support this county without spending money. The biggest reason to vote for Bob: He wants this job — he does not need this job! Go Bob! Anne Wadley Medford What's wrong Easy! It's representatives who do not "represent" the people — they "represent" the party! Example: Greg Walden. Ed Scanlin Medford Bad dog You people are greener than a gourd, aren't you? No mention of the good the timber and lumber did for this valley in the '40s, '50s and early '60s. No mention of the number of families out of work. You had to blame the spotted owl, which wasn't endangered in the first place. Bad dog, no biscuit. G. Flanagan Medford Support Crain Judge Patricia Crain's abilities and dedication have been demonstrated by the support and endorsements she has received from people familiar with her career in the justice system. Please visit Judge Crain's website and you will see that the list of her supporters is full of people that care for and are committed to our valley. I had an opportunity to work with and observe her skills both when Judge Crain was in private practice and later as a colleague on the bench. In an era of increased specialization has demonstrated an ability to excel in many areas of the legal landscape including civil, criminal, domestic relations, juvenile and probate. I can assure you that, due to the complexities of the various areas of the law, this is not easy and her experience is invaluable. I urge you to support Judge Crain's re-election. Ray White, retired Circuit Court judge Medford Constantly changing Today conventional wisdom says that we are entering an era of man-made “global warming.” Former Vice President Al Gore has become wealthy advocating this. Millions of people, including citizens, politicians, the U.N. and the pope, also accept it. To many people it is almost a religion. But, not everybody is on board. And, some “believers” are convinced that “infidels” should be punished for their unbelief! On April 10, 2016, the Mail Tribune had a debate about this very subject on their Point/Counterpoint page. Recently I came across a couple of magazines which were predicting a possible “drastic climate change!” One article was in the July, 1974 Readers Digest. This article started with these words: “If scientists are reading the signals correctly, we may be heading into a global cooling trend that could bring massive tragedies for mankind.” The other was in the December, 1974 Fate Magazine titled: “LITTLE ICE AGE.” These articles are interesting reading. Forty years ago a lot of prominent scientists were quite concerned about a possible coming “deep freeze!” I wonder what scientists will be saying about “climate change” 40 years from now?
