Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend July 22, 2005 Emergency Services Felony arrests Assault — Michael Dean Dow, 25, no known address. A Central Point police officer Thursday arrested Dow on charges of initiating a false report, second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of fourth-degree assault, harassment and third-degree sexual abuse. He was lodged in Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Thursday on $21,000 bail. Assault — Efrain Luna Barajas, 52, no known address. A Central Point police officer Thursday arrested Barajas on charges of strangulation, two counts of fourth-degree assault and harassment. He was lodged in jail and later released on bail. Drugs — Lisa Ann Vanrossum, 38, of the 8800 block of Teal Drive, Fresno, Calif. Vanrossum appeared Thursday in Jackson County Circuit Court on an indictment charging her with possession of methamphetamine. She was booked into jail and released on her own recognizance. Drugs — Richard Lynn Lockwood, 38, of the 300 block of Luman Road, Phoeniz. Lockwood appeared Thursday in Circuit Court on an indictment charging him with possession of methamphetamine. He was booked into jail and released on his own recognizance. Crime reports Vehicle theft — West Main Street, Medford. A Medford police officer Thursday took a report in which a 1992 Volvo, Oregon license SSF 790, was stolen. The value of the car was unknown. Fire calls Structure fire — At around 2 p.m. Thursday Fire District 3 crews responded to a structure fire at the 600 block of Blackwell Road in Central Point, District 3 Captain Mike Hussey said. When crews arrived on scene they saw "heavy dark smoke" pouring from the house’s eves. The fire, which took about 1.5 hours to extinguish, was contained to the house’s attic, Hussey said. District 3 dispatched three engines to the scene. The estimated damage to the house is unknown, and the fire remains under investigation.
