The effort to put extra officers on the lookout for safety violations is part of a "Three Flags" campaign in Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. It’s paid for here by the Oregon Department of Transportation. A child safety-seat check-up clinic is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, 649 Crater Lake Ave. Technicians trained to install safety seats will ensure parents and caregivers are using seats correctly.
