Sharon was born to Wayne and Margie Crow and raised by her maternal grandparents, Saul and Mable Cox of Phoenix, Ore. When her mother remarried for the second time, third marriage, she became an Air Force brat living throughout the United States and Europe and raising her half-siblings while her mother was the ultimate officer's wife. Her mother affectionately referred to her as "fatso." Sharon graduated from the University of California, Riverside and worked for Orange County Social Services Department starting out as a social worker, ironically specializing in child abuse cases and eventually retiring from senior management. Sharon is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Kathleen Burkhart; and grandson, John R. Burkhart. Special thanks to her family and friends for their caring and thoughtfulness during her long illness. A celebration of life will be held at the family residence in late July.
