Kristen Christy is a Master Resilience Trainer and resilience expert. She is the co-founder of the National Veterans Vocational Village Foundation nonprofit, the co-creator of the 9-8-8 suicide prevention lifeline number, and creator of National Resilience Day. In today's episode, Kristen shares her deeply personal story of losing her first husband to suicide and the ripple effect it had on her two young sons. She shares a voicemail from one of her sons that he left on the night he attempted suicide. She says this voicemail has saved lives. We also talk about how community can reach people in the depths of despair, what Kristen does to make sure people are seen everywhere she goes, and how you can add daily routines to help others.
