Frank Schuette is the complaining witness. It is charged that the men named in the warrant, while driving a Corbin automobile Saturday evening, were either under the influence of liquor or wickedly reckless, for they appeared to care nothing for speed laws or the presence of any other vehicle in the road. Their manner toward those whom they met, it is alleged, was profane and offensive. On the Pacific highway, between this city and Phoenix, they met Schuette with a two-horse wagon load of wood. He was unable to escape them and a collision followed, with the result that a wheel was knocked off of the automobile and the wagon of Schuette was somewhat demolished. Schuette was thrown violently to the paved road, sustaining severe injuries, his face being badly bruised and skinned and his nose almost torn off. Constable Hammond will probably bring the offenders before Justice Glenn O. Taylor today. ANNUAL MEETING OF IOWA SOCIETY The Iowa society's Medford branch — about seventy strong — enjoyed an evening of delightful entertainment last night at the banquet prepared by the Ladies' Aid society of the M.E. church in St. Mark's hall, followed by an excellent program of music and dramatic readings, the latter by Mrs. George T. Wilson in a selection from "David Copperfield," and Mrs. Hovious in dramatic selections from a history of the civil war, representing southern chivalry and sentimental passion, both ladies responding to encores. The musical program was also especially enjoyable as rendered by Miss Hinman in vocal selections, Miss Butler in piano selections and Mr. Sheets in baritone. Following the musical feature of the evening came the social time and dance, during which everybody appeared to enjoy a good old Iowa time.
