Agency candidates face Jan. 11 deadline By Jonel Aleccia From school boards and fire districts to the Bear Creek Valley Sanitary Authority, public entities throughout Jackson County have vacancies for new members. The deadline to apply for more than two dozen openings on various agencies is 5 p.m. Jan. 11. The regular district election will be March 13. Candidate packets are available from the Jackson County Elections Department, at the county courthouse or on the Web at www.jacksoncounty.org . For more information, call 774-6148. The following openings are available: Rogue Community College board of directors, four four-year terms: Zone 2, Josephine County; Zone 3, Northwest Jackson County; Zone 6, Southwest Jackson County; Zone 7, North Medford. Jackson Education Service District board of directors, six four-year terms: Zone 1, Josephine County; Zone 2, Josephine County; Zone 5, the Ashland, Pinehurst and Phoenix-Talent school districts, excepting several precincts; Zones 6 and 7, several precincts in the Medford School District; Zone 8, the Central Point and Rogue River school and the portion of Three Rivers School District now situated in Jackson County. Ashland School District board of directors, three four-year terms: positions 1, 3 and 4. Butte Falls School District board of directors, three four-year terms: positions 1, 2 and 5. Central Point School District board of directors, three four-year terms: Position 1, Zone 1; Position 2, Zone 1; Position 4, Zone 2. Eagle Point School District board of directors, three four-year terms: positions 2, 3 and 5. Medford School District board of directors, three four-year terms and one two-year term: positions 1, 2, 3 and 4.
