Inmate from Medford dead of natural causes Matthew Richard Tracy Monday Nov 20, 2017 at 5:03 PM Nov 20, 2017 at 5:03 PM A former Medford man died unexpectedly Monday in a Portland-area hospital. Matthew Richard Tracy, 65, a convicted pedophile, had been an inmate at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility and Intake Center in Wilsonville. Tracy was sentenced to 75 months in prison after he pleaded no-contest Sept. 12 to two counts of first-degree sex abuse and one count of private indecency involving a girl younger than 14, court records show. His earliest release date was May 31, 2026. Court documents state that Tracy was previously convicted of sexual assault and incest in 1985 in Omaha, Nebraska, and for public indecency in Josephine County in 1995. He was pronounced dead of natural causes about 11:30 a.m. Monday, according to a press release from the Oregon Department of Corrections.
