The Spartans (34-11) are in third place in the WSHL Northwest Division. The Steelheads (41-4) remain in first place in the division. The two teams play the regular-season finale at 7:30 tonight at The RRRink. The Steelheads struck early but Mackenzie Wood evened things up with a short-handed breakaway goal midway through the first period. Spartan goals were also scored by Nick Pagliacci, Johan Lovestrum and Anton Bokull. Lovestrom and Bokull's goals were empty netters late in the third period. Spartans goalie Reed Kinsey made 39 saves, facing 40 shots. Steelhead goalie Tyler Hough faced 24 shots, stopping 22, the other two Spartan goals being scored while he watched helplessly from the bench. Idaho recorded 28 penalty minutes on nine infractions, including a 10-minute misconduct. Southern Oregon recorded 36 penalty minutes on eight infractions, including two 10-minute misconducts. The Spartans have the most penalty minutes in the division.
