You may have read statements like, "Global warming/climate change is a hoax," but is there evidence of such a hoax? How could tens of thousands of scientists, assistants, graduate students and government personnel in 183 countries all be induced to participate? Managing such a hoax would require a massive organization to coordinate all of the data in thousands of research projects over 60-plus years to show the same fraudulent outcome. Some individuals would have a crisis of conscience and would want to tell their story. There would be large amounts of data smuggled out of the organization to be released, WikiLeaks style. But none of that exists. There is not a single individual in the whole world who has presented any credible evidence of the existence of such a massive hoax. Sherlock Holmes said, "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." With absolutely no evidence of a massive hoax, we must label such fraud as impossible. If the hoax is impossible, then what remains — the enormous amount of data collected over 60-plus years — must be the truth. David Lane Ashland Add elementary chorus Thank you for a great article and "Cheers" for the increased enrollment in sixth-grade band and orchestra in Medford. It truly is a great connect for schools to have music groups to offer an opportunity for sixth-graders to participate in music. I was a school band member myself, and I continue to play in the Southern Oregon Concert Band. I am also a choral director, and I wonder why chorus is not offered to sixth-graders. There is little expense as there is no cost for instruments; every child has a voice to sing. Choruses also add a connect to schools, and almost every church and community has a chorus in which to continue this life-long skill. Singers learn musical skills and, like instrumental musicians, they learn cooperation, teamwork, self-confidence, self-esteem. I have witnessed the joy of making music in a chorus. I can only hope Medford School District will add an elementary chorus option as soon as possible. Doris Sjolund Medford Appalled by cartoon I was totally appalled at the cartoon in Sunday's paper, Nov. 29, on page B6. This cartoon on racism was so uncalled for. In a day and age now of police shootings of black unarmed men, gangs in our area, school shootings and Paris attacks this is just another thing to add salt to an open wound. I understand freedom of speech, however your editor has the final decision on what is to be printed. This is the season for giving, forgiving and peace on earth, so please take that into consideration on certain cartoons that are offensive before these are printed.
