It turns out the car was put there by a man who was in a hurry to get home after work, Central Point police officer J.R. Godfrey said. Trey Hansen, 21, was cited for reckless driving after missing his turn and ending up crashing into a power box in front the cinder block barrier. His 2002 Honda Civic launched off the power box and came to rest on top of the cinder blocks, which house trash and recycling cans for the apartment complex at the intersection of Hopkins Road and Village Drive. The car actually hit a nearby apartment, where residents were sleeping, Godfrey said. Advertisement "When I came around to corner, I couldn't believe it," Godfrey said. Godfrey estimates the car was traveling 55 mph when it hit the power box. The speed limit in the 800 block of Hopkins Road is 25 mph, he said. The crash knocked out the power on the street for about six hours, Godfrey said. "People are always driving too fast down here," said Mark Ver Bryck, who lives nearby.
