The Raiders (16-4) downed host Albertson College (10-1), Western Baptist (7-5) and Oregon Tech (3-0) to finish 5-0 at the two-day event and opened a two- game lead over the closest pursuer in the six-team league title chase. The wins extended Southern’s win streak to 10 straight entering the April 1 home openers against Patten College. Five players had two hits in the 13-hit attack against ACI, and freshman pitcher Megan Beugli worked three scoreless innings of relief to earn her third victory of the season. Freshman Beth Morrill went 3-for-4 against WBC, and with Southern trailing 5-4 in the top of the seventh, her one-out, bases-loaded double drove in the tying and eventual winning run. Advertisement Gillaspie improved to 7-2 on the season by working the final three frames against the Warriors and tossing a three-hit, complete-game shutout against OIT. The former Redmond High all-star hurler retired the final 13 Owl batters. Sophomore Amy Williams’ two-out RBI single in the first was the game-winner, and senior Alexis Cooper paced SOU with a 3-for-4 clip.
