His last days were spent peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. Born on February 23, 2002 to Dan and Aushna Shepherd, he was an angel from day one. Our first child, he blessed us with heartwarming and beautiful memories. Alexanders 13 years of life seem too short but those who were touched by him understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. It would be impossible to summarize such an amazing child in a few paragraphs, he was the best brother ever to his sister Lily, math wizard, extremely empathetic, generous, very handsome, hungry to learn, avid cyclist, trusted friend, natural surfer, cat lover, super stylish, outgoing, friendly, brilliant, forgiving, soccer player, kind, brave, dancing king, beautiful singer, faith that surpassed everyone I know, hilarious, amazing skier, the “greatest dancer”, and the most beautiful son that ever lived... Thank you for letting us be your family bubsy; you were everything to your baby sister & we pray your bond together will never end. We were so blessed to have you and we would not have changed that for the world... We can not wait to see you again. With Alex's passing we are reminded that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him everyday, especially his beautiful smile he will forever remain in our hearts. This Sunday June 7, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. we will celebrate him at Grizzly Peak Winery in Ashland. For those that wish to join us wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt and fedora hat if you'd like.
