I'd much rather have my money go to a good cause as opposed to the mall. — Sarah L. We think we can help you out, Sarah, though our few recommendations are likely not complete. It's a busy time of year for Mr. Claus, after all, and it's tough to keep up with his ever-fluid appearance schedule. (His PR elf is also terrible about returning our phone calls). If there are any additions to what we know about, we'd be happy to include them in our calendar. Just email them to [email protected] . To start with, Santa will be making an appearance at the Providence Festival of Trees, which costs $5 for general admission, or $3 for attendees 60 and older and children 2 to 12. Proceeds from the event will go to Providence's new interventional recovery unit, intended to streamline care for patients undergoing complex heart and vascular procedures. Santa visits are free, and photography is permitted, but professional photos are also available and cost $5 apiece. Mr. Claus — and his reindeer — will also be available for photos 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at Harry & David's Country Village, 1314 Center Drive in Medford. All proceeds from the event will go to support South Medford High School's softball team. Living Opportunities is also planning an event with the Jolly Old Elf, though payment won't be required for photos. Santa will make an appearance at the non-profit's Christmas party, held 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Medford Elks Lodge, 202 N. Central Ave., Ashland. We hope that helps. Whichever one you choose, remember to have your wish list ready. Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O. Box 1108, Medford, OR 97501; by fax to 541-776-4376; or by email to [email protected]. We’re sorry, but the volume of questions received prevents us from answering all of them.
