Celone, Spears win regionals Aug 15, 2009 12:00 AM A A Tom Celone and Dixon Spears were victorious in senior and super senior divisions, respectively, at the Region 7 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships at Centennial Golf Course Friday. Celone, from Reno, Nev., hit a winning drive of 385 yards. Lonnie White finished second 373 yards. Both Celone and White will advance to the seniors (ages 45-52) world finals this fall in Mesquite, Nev. Spears, of Portland, boomed a shot 346 yards in the super-senior division. Brad Habernecht finished second at 339 yards. Spears will advance to the world finals, while Habernecht is an alternate. The open division will be today, starting at 9 a.m. at Centennial.
