After getting three-hit by Jill Suratt in Game 1, 5-0, the Raiders stroked 15 hits in Game 2 for a 6-2 victory, upping their record to 21-13 overall and 2-4 in the CCC. Randall singled and scored in a two-run first, then hit an RBI double in the second. Ahern was 3-for-4 with an RBI double in the first and a solo homer in the seventh — her fourth of the season and second in as many days — while Krystina Pardoski (two runs), Megan Winton (one run) and Davalin Ontiveros (one RBI) had two hits apiece. The Raiders' 15 hits equaled the most they've had in a game all season. Randall, a freshman shortstop, now has three four-hit games. Bricker, who improved to 9-3, yielded five hits and two runs with three strikeouts and three walks. The complete game was her sixth. The Beacons (7-19, 4-6), who also knocked off No. 13 Oregon Tech on Friday, had 10 hits in the opener. Suratt had a one-hitter going until the seventh inning. Gina Ayala had two of SOU's hits off her and Winton had the other. Brianne Craig (Rialto, Calif./Etiwanda) went five innings and took the loss. Track and Field SOU TRIO SHINE: At Sacramento, Calif., three Southern Oregon University runners reserved spots at the NAIA Track & Field Championships by clocking the fastest NAIA times this season in their respective events at Sacramento State's Hornet Invitational. Amelia Maguin did it in the women's 400-meter hurdles, Zach Body-Helm in the men's 800-meter race and former Crater Comet Max Runia in the men's 1,500 meters. Boyd-Helm and Runia were making their season debuts. Maguin registered one of SOU's two wins by breaking her own school record with a time of 59.07 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles to take the 22-person race. Her previous record time was 59.19, achieved in last year's NAIA championship race. Maguin also hit an NAIA 'B' provisional qualifying standard in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing sixth of 34 with a time of 14.59 seconds. Senior Jessie Rozario had SOU's other win in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, a six-person race, with another 'B' provisional-qualifying time of 11:25.41. Boyd-Helm and Runia's times were also No. 1 this season on the lists of their respective events. Boyd-Helm was fifth of 53 in the 800 meters in 1:51.51, making him an automatic qualifier for the NAIA Championships. Runia was seventh of 53 in the 1,500 meters with an automatic-qualifier time of 3:41.40. Baseball ARIZONA STATE 2, OREGON 1: At Eugene, Arizona State starter Ryan Kellogg gave up just one run on three hits as the Sun Devils won the second game of their series at Oregon's PK Park. Kellogg tallied seven strikeouts and walked two. Oregon starter David Peterson was nearly as sharp, giving up two runs on three hits in 7 1/3 innings with six strikeouts and three walks. Peterson's fifth-inning balk gave ASU its first run. Phil Craig-St. Louis had two hits and an RBI for Oregon.
