She passed away peacefully February 4, 2014 in Eagle Point, Ore. Laura was born the year women won the right to vote, and she liked to say, They knew I was coming and they started getting ready for me. She worked throughout her life to help those often overlooked by society and to build a more peaceful and just world. Laura taught English and journalism at Phoenix High School in Phoenix, Ore. With her four children with Oswald John Fett II (married 1949-1961), she shared many gifts, including a commitment to social justice and a keen appreciation for the humor and beauty in life. Laura was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Linell Fett (1951-1972) and is survived by two daughters and a son: Teresa Patton of Saint Paul, Minn., O.
