CRIME Police looking for possible additional victims in Ashland rape cases By Local report MailTribune.com By Local report Posted Feb. 27, 2015 @ 4:38 pm Updated Feb 27, 2015 at 5:06 PM By Local report Posted Feb. 27, 2015 @ 4:38 pm Updated Feb 27, 2015 at 5:06 PM » Social News p bs:newslist StartDate="20121121" EndDate="p bs:datecalc Months="3"" DateSort="1" UseObjects="1" ObjectClass="81" Taxonomywords="2325,665" ExactTaxonomyMatch="1" Image="1" Count="4" --> The Ashland Police Department is asking the public for further information on two separate rape investigations that resulted in an arrest this month. According to a news release, detectives arrested Dustin Brines Tyrer, 33, on Feb. 17 on two counts of first-degree rape following what police describe as a long-term investigation involving two different victims. Court documents allege he sexually assaulted a woman while she was intoxicated. Police added charges of first-degree sexual abuse and sexual harassment Feb. 24 while Tyrer was still in custody on the original rape charges. He's being held in the Jackson County Jail on more than $1 million bail. Tyrer knew both victims before the alleged crimes occurred, the news release says. A search of court records reveals he has no prior felony convictions in Jackson County. Police are asking anyone with information about the cases, or any other alleged crimes the department doesn't know about yet, to contact the Ashland Police Department directly or through the website of its You Have Options program at www.reportingoptions.org .
