Fatal crash victim in Rogue River identified Tuesday Aug 15, 2017 at 11:49 AM Aug 15, 2017 at 4:30 PM The Jackson County Sheriff's Office identified the victim of a fatal crash Thursday as Kurtis Lloyd Kline of Rogue River. Kline, 61, was driving an all-terrain vehicle northbound on West Evans Creek Road when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Horacio Sanchez-Torres, 24, of Marysville, the sheriff's office said. Investigators said Kline was speeding and was not wearing a helmet. Sheriff's Deputy Noah Strohmeyer performed CPR on Kline until medics arrived, but Kline died at the scene, a sheriff's release said. Witnesses told police they saw Kline, who lived nearby, driving the ATV up and down the road for some time before the crash. Though the Cherokee was badly damaged, Sanchez-Torres and a passenger were not injured during the collision. No citations have been issued.
