Raiders post dual-meet victory over San Francisco State SAN FRANCISCO - Two Southern Oregon University wrestlers avenged losses to their San Francisco State counterparts, sparking a 24-12 Raiders dual-meet victory Saturday over the NCAA Division II school. SOU got wins from Chris Huntley at 165 pounds and Brian Wilson at 174 that proved crucial to the victory. "Those guys really stepped up," said Raider coach Mike Ritchey. "We had to win those two matches to beat these guys. If we lose those, that's a swing of 12 points." Huntley defeated Josh McDonald, 9-4. McDonald had beaten Huntley at an SOU tournament. "He came back and dominated him pretty good," Ritchey said of his two-time national qualifier. "He wrestled a smart match. He went out there and was aggressive. He got a takedown, put him on his back and got a nice lead on him. He pretty much dominated the whole match." Wilson, ranked sixth in the nation, downed Brian Ysias, 11-7. Ysias had beaten Wilson 5-3 two weeks ago in a tournament in Davis, Calif. Another highlight for the Raiders came from sixth-ranked Mike Sills at 197. Sills has been in and out of the lineup for injury and academic reasons, but he recorded a technical fall over Drew Dunbar, 23-7. The Raiders improved to 4-2 in duals.
