After being found unfit to stand trial in July 2014, Scott has been held as a patient at the Oregon State Hospital in Salem. Court records show he's currently scheduled for a pre-trial conference August 15. For readers unfamiliar with the case, Scott is charged with first -degree manslaughter, DUII, recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving stemming from the March 2014 death of Karen Greenstein, a dispatcher for Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon, in a head-on collision on Interstate 5 near Phoenix. Police said Scott was intoxicated and driving the wrong way into oncoming traffic when he drove his van into Greenstein's Honda Civic. Greenstein's estate filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Scott and the state of Oregon this June, arguing that the state had been negligent in issuing Scott a driver's license because his license had previously been revoked in another state.
