Reagan biography gets mixed interest Wire and staff reports NEW YORK -- Read by few, criticized by many, "Dutch: A Memoir of Ronald Reagan" finally went on sale Thursday. The book had already reached No. 4 on Amazon.com's best-seller list, trailing only three "Harry Potter" children's stories, and was flying off bookstore shelves in Washington, D.C. Author Edmund Morris, granted extensive access to Reagan when he was president, has been attacked for inserting himself into the story as a fictional character. In the Rogue Valley, far outside the Beltway, readers apparently were less eager. At Bloomsbury Books in Ashland, owner Karen Chapman said she hadn't seen much interest in the book. "There was one man who wanted a copy," she said. "The author was on the `Today' show just this morning (Thursday), so maybe by the weekend there'll be more interest." Barnes and Noble manager Bruce Budmayr said he can't give out any information on sales, but he said he has the book displayed with new releases and has seen "some interest."
