Maguin smashed an NAIA automatic qualifying standard when she won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.84. She's been the national runner-up in the event the last two seasons. Parks, who redshirted last season after an All-American campaign in 2013, won the 16-person discus with a throw of 155 feet, 4 inches, which put him in the NAIA provisional qualifying category. He was also second of 18 entrants in the shot put with a mark of 45-2 1/2. Hayden Saparto had two strong marks, finishing third of 19 in the men's 100-meter dash (10.95) and second of 14 in the 200 (22.32). SOU's women's 4x400-meter relay team — featuring Anna Reitman, Lauren McGowne, Margot Hamman and Maguin — claimed second place in 3:59.34. McGowne's busy day also included a third-place effort in the 200, finishing in 26.98 seconds. Jessie Rozario took fourth of 32 in the women's 800 in 2:20.84, and Atalie Frank was third of 13 in the 5,000 in 20:52.45. Baseball ARIZONA STATE 4, OREGON STATE 3: At Phoenix, Brian Serven’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning boosted No. 12 Arizona State, snapping Oregon State’s win streak at 11 games. Serven singled off reliever Sam Tweedt, with the loss coming to Zack Reser, who allowed just one unearned run. He dropped to 0-1. The Beavers are 15-4 ovearll, 1-1 in the Pac-12. ASU is 11-6 and 1-1. OSU advanced the lead to 3-0 when Logan Ice and Jeff Hendrix posted run-scoring singles in the second inning. But the Sun Devils scored once in the second and twice in the eighth. Rasmussen, a freshman, worked 6 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits and a run with three strikeouts. CAL 6, OREGON 2: At Berkeley, Calif., California scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break open a close game in Pac-12 action. Cal (15-3, 2-0 Pac-12) rallied from a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the third and four in the sixth. Mark Karaviotis got the Ducks (15-3, 2-0 Pac-12) on the board first with an RBI double in the second inning. Oregon had an opportunity to rally from a 2-1 deficit in the fourth inning when it loaded the bases with one out, but Karaviotis grounded sharply to third in an inning-ending double play. Oregon added a run in the ninth when Phil Craig-St.Louis scored on a single by Brandon Cuddy. Freshman David Peterson (2-1) picked up his first loss, allowing five runs, three earned, on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings.
