Officers had responded to a possibly armed suicidal subject at 2020 Grandview Ave. Most of the street, which runs between Crater Lake and Whittle avenues in north Medford, was been blocked off. "We are asking for folks to stay clear of this area until it is resolved," police posted on their Facebook page. "North Medford High School has been made aware of the situation and officers are at the school, keeping students safely away during their lunch break." A witness, Kelli Martinez, said at least one armed officer was on a roof nearby. The incident began around noon.  Officers were focused on a unit at the east side of the Grandview Apartments complex and used a nearby strip mall on Crater Lake Avenue as a staging area.  The Medford SWAT team arrived with its armored vehicle around 12:30 p.m. Officers used a bullhorn to try to communicate with the woman. "We'd like to make sure you're OK," the loudspeaker blared. "Please come to the window." About 3:11 p.m., police announced the suspect had been detained without injury.
