The 6-foot-2 Butte Falls standout, who was moved to center midway through last season, averaged 25 points and 12.5 rebounds in leading the Loggers to a 20-5 record, including a 12-0 mark in the Skyline A League. For his efforts, Harrington was named the league’s most valuable player. Joining Harrington on the first-team, all-star list were teammates Derek Burns, a 6-1 senior wing who averaged 15.5 points, and Dillon Ross, a 6-1 sophomore who hit at an 11.5 clip. Rounding out the first team were Wade Boan and Brandon Fivecoat of North Lake and Craig Rice of Hosanna Christian. The girls’ all-star squad was also headlined by a Butte Falls player, 6-1 senior post Sarah Matthews. Advertisement Matthews led the Loggers to the Skyline A League championship, a 20-8 overall record and a berth in the Class 2A state tournament. She didn’t slow down at the big dance, contributing 44 points in three games. Matthews scored 15 points and snagged 15 rebounds in the Loggers’ 59-43 consolation semifinal victory over Mohawk. Joining Matthews on the elite unit were two teammates — Brianna Smeltz and Cassey Bartel. Laura Carlon of Paisley, Emily Morehouse of New Hope Christian Ashley DuBrey of Triad also made the first team.
