Officers will be stationed near where the one-way Eighth and Main streets meet to become a two-way street just south of Hawthorne Park. A decoy pedestrian will test drivers by repeatedly walking across the street at the crosswalk there. Drivers who do not stop and remain stopped while the walker is in their lane of traffic or an adjacent lane will be cited for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Medford police will conduct a similar operation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Jackson and Holly streets.
