http://www.omniture.com --> Email Story to a Friend June 13, 2006 Creek road isn't done yet I just finished reading the article concerning the rumble strips on Interstate 5 between Medford and Ashland. Speaking of paving and bumps, we live beyond Wimer on East Evans Creek Road, and often wonder, now that the new bridge across Evans Creek is "finished," is it really finished? It has more bumps and gyrations than some E-ticket rides at Disneyland. Please tell us that it's not totally fixed. What's going on out there? -- Dennis H., Grants Pass You're right, Dennis, that bridge does have some problems. County Engineer Mike Kuntz said the contractor, Carter and Co. Inc. of Salem, will take care of the bumps — but not until late summer. The county hasn't paid the company the full amount for the $1.3 million bridge contract, said Kuntz. "We haven't paid them everything for it yet because they have those outstanding issues," he said. The company also is building another bridge in the area for the county. Kuntz said it hasn't been determined how Carter and Co. will take care of the bumps and gyrations. So, Dennis, enjoy the ride for the time being.
