A southeasterly wind is pushing smoke toward the Rogue Valley from the about 19,000-acre Beaver fire burning along the Klamath River between Yreka and Happy Camp in Siskiyou County, said Brian Nieuwenhuis, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Medford.  Accompanying smoke could also be coming from a series of fires that make up the July Complex burning in southeastern Siskiyou County, he said. The Oregon Gulch fire east of Ashland displayed minimal fire activity today, fire officials said, and is over 50 percent contained.  — Sam Wheeler MailTribune.com Writer Posted Aug. 8, 2014 @ 8:47 pm Updated Aug 8, 2014 at 9:28 PM » Comment or view comments   Reader Reaction »  STAY INFORMED   Email NewsLetter   Sign Up Today   Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox. calendar Connect with MailTribune.com Facebook Twitter RSS Back to top Reader Services Reader Services Home Subscriptions Subscriber controls Contact us Submissions Photos Events Letters to the editor Corrections Announcements Obituaries Story ideas Since you asked Alerts Email Alerts RSS Feeds Text Alerts Advertise Media Kit Home Products and services Ad rates Advertising contacts Mail Tribune Daily Tidings The Nickel Shop Our Valley Blogs Stay Informed   Email newsletter   Sign Up Today   Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox.
