According to The Tampa Bay Times, the pilot is Doug Hughes, a Florida mailman who told his friend he intended to land his craft on the Capitol building lawn as “an act of civil disobedience” intended to protest campaign finance laws, “campaign finance laws,” or the lack thereof. QUOTE OF NOTE “There are two dozen articles and thousands of comments suggesting that this is a prank, and I am responsible for it,” talk show host Jimmy Kimmel said on his show last night, after being accused of masterminding the viral Dennis Quaid meltdown video that was “leaked” earlier this week. The original video, which appears to be shot on a cellphone on a film set, shows Quaid flipping out after having his concentration interrupted. As it turned out, the expletive-filled Quaid “meltdown” ended up being a prank video for the website Funny or Die. MUST-SEE VIDEO: Peru volcano eruption sets off mudslide The eruption of Peru’s Ubinas volcano set off a thick mudslide earlier this month, forcing authorities in nearby towns to issue alerts to residents. People living near the volcano are being advised to wear masks and glasses, due to the heavy emission of ashes. The volcano was dormant for about 40 years prior to 2006.
